The Ultimate Crypto Churning Guide — Canadian Edition
Hey folks, I am putting together this guide to show you how to leverage promotions on certain cryptocurrency platforms to get a bunch of free crypto. This is a great way to get into the crypto markets. By following this guide you’ll get a ton of free crypto just for signing up and making the required deposits.
You’ll end up making about $200 CAD by following the instructions below. That doesn’t factor in any gain/losses from holding cryptocurrency. But holding cryptocurrency has been the best performing investment in the history of mankind (sorry Trudeau, I meant peoplekind), so it’s probably something you should have some exposure to.
To put it in perspective, if you bought $1,000 worth of Bitcoin ten years ago, you’d have about $6 Million today. If you bought $1,000 worth of Ethereum five years ago, you’d have about $600,000 today.

Further, this guide will help you take the first step into investing in cryptocurrency, interacting with the blockchain, and placing orders on a crypto exchange. All while earning a bunch of free bonuses. It’s the perfect way to dip your toes into the crypto sphere.
Step 1: Shakepay
We are assuming that you do not yet have a Shakepay account. Shakepay is one of the most popular cryptocurrency purchasing apps for Canadians. It’s popular because it’s incredibly easy to use. You can buy crypto using Interac etransfer, which is enabled at all major Canadian banks.
Start by signing up using this code:
Once you sign up, add funds to your Shakepay account. Interac e-Transfer is the best / easiest / cheapest way to do so. To take advantage of all the promo codes, you need to deposit ~1100 USD (at the time of writing this is around $1400 CAD). To qualify for the Shakepay promo code ($30 free), you need to buy $100 CADworth of crypto.
Once your $1400 CAD is uploaded, buy $1400 CAD worth of BTC. You will automatically receive $30 CAD free from the Shakepay promo code.
For experienced users: Shakepay is not necessary to complete this guide. We just like it for the 0 network fees and Canadian e-transfer deposit. If you already have cryptocurrency on another platform, just skip to step 2 or step 3.
Step 2: OKEx
OKEx is my favourite exchange for crypto trading. They support tons of different cryptos, they have low trading fees, and competitive withdrawal fees. Their “Earn” platform also provides some of the best rates in the industry.
Anyways, we are going to claim a $10 USD reward on OKEx by signing up under the following code:
Once you have signed up to OKEx, you need you send your BTC that you bought on Shakepay to the OKEx platform. This is done using an on-chain transaction. Shakepay covers the network fees. Find your OKEx BTC address by visiting this page:
Choose BTC and you will get an address (it looks something like this):
Copy and paste that address into your Shakepay Wallet BTC withdraw address. Leave $410 USD worth of BTC on Shakepay (important). Yes, that is USD. Not CAD. More on this later. So we are bringing all the rest of the BTC to OKEx.
Once the BTC deposit clears on OKEx, trade:
- $275 USD of BTC to USDT (https://www.okex.com/trade-spot)
- $420 USD of BTC to ADA (https://www.okex.com/trade-spot/ada-btc)

Step 3: Celsius Network (The Big Kahuna)
You should now have about $410 USD worth of BTC on Shakepay, $275 USDT on OKEx, $420 USD of ADA on OKEx.

Once you’ve signed up, you need to start depositing onto Celsius. Celsius is a savings platform for crypto. They pay you interest for holding crypto on their platform. They have huge corporate investments from behemoths like Blackrock and Vanguard (two of the biggest portfolio management companies in the world).
So, start by sending all your BTC from Shakepay to Celsius. Find your BTC deposit address on the Celsius App after signing up.
Ensure the amount of BTC you send is worth at least $400 USD. This is needed to unlock the signup promo code of $50 free. You can check the BTC price here:
Now on Celsius when you click your Account Balance, you should see the $50 reward locked. You need to hold your all your bitcoin on the platform for 30 days to receive the promo bonus. You’ll earn interest during that time as well.
Next, let’s move on to depositing USDT (from your OKEx account). Go to Celsius App in the top right corner and click the user icon. Then click Promo Codes. Enter the following 2 promo codes:
- STABLE10
- STABLE50
Now, you should see both of these as Pending in the promo code section. To activate them, we need to deposit at least $250 of USDT. We can do this in one transaction from OKEx. Copy your USDT ERC20 deposit address on Celsius Network App.
Paste this address as a withdrawal address on OKEx. There will be a fee for the withdrawal on OKEx, you’ll just have to eat it. Fortunately, you’ll be getting $60 in rewards for activating these 2 promo codes, which is still a nice profit.
Withdraw all of your USDT to Celsius Network from OKEx. Once this is completed, check the Promo Codes and ensure you activated the promos. They should now say “Locked”. Once again, hold your USDT on Celsius for 30 days without making a withdrawal so that these promo codes unlock.
Last but not least is the ADA. Enter:
- ADA40
In the promo codes section on Celsius. Same idea as the USDT promos. You need to deposit $400 of ADA to get a $40 bonus after 30 days. Transfer all your ADA from OKEx to Celsius Network. Ensure it’s worth at least $400 USD. If done correctly, you will see the promo code change to locked.
Congrats, you’ve now activated the following promo codes:
- $30 CAD on Shakepay
- $10 USD on OKEx
- $50 USD + $60 USD + 40 USD on Celsius Network
After all your promo codes have completed their 30 day cooldown, you can withdraw them from Celsius. Make sure you wait for ALL OF THEM TO COMPLETE before withdrawing anything. You can withdraw everything from Celsius back over to OKEx, change to BTC, transfer to Shakepay and cash everything out.
